Perspectives: The MoMath Summer College Volunteer Program
Each summer, MoMath offers Perspectives, a volunteer program for college undergraduates. Students who complete Perspectives gain a strong level of knowledge and experience in what it takes to operate a successful business, as well as exposure to a variety of interesting programs, lectures, and people. The expected commitment is five days per week for eight to twelve weeks, and it typically includes assignments on the floor of the Museum, in the retail shop, and in MoMath’s administrative office.
Perspectives is an unpaid volunteer program. (Many colleges and universities, however, provide funding for students who volunteer in not-for-profits, and applicants should check with their school’s career office to see if their school offers such support.) Integrators: The MoMath High School Volunteer Program
MoMath accepts a limited number of high school students for ongoing volunteer roles during summer vacation and/or from September through June. This is a unique chance to improve your interpersonal and communication skills, explore mathematical concepts, and learn valuable job skills. MoMath students interact with visitors on the Museum floor and train with professional educators, interpreters, and managers. During the school year, this opportunity requires a commitment of approximately one day per week, typically a Saturday or Sunday. Students who participate during summer vacation commit five days per week.

Integrator (Volunteer Docent)
MoMath accepts volunteer Integrators who interact with individual visitors and school groups on the exhibition floor in order to help them have a rewarding Museum experience. Integrators engage with children and adults exploring the Museum, and explain the various math concepts demonstrated through the exhibits. This position requires a strong math background, the ability to connect with learners of all ages, and a comfort with hands-on education. More information is available here.
Other volunteer opportunities
MoMath welcomes volunteers who provide valuable support in a variety of individual ways across the Museum, in both public-facing and internal roles. Some common examples include assisting with check-in and registration for Museum programs, and interacting with visitors at the events and demonstrations MoMath presents at locations around New York City and in other cities. MoMath also benefits from professionals who generously donate their expertise and time as educators, administrators, and technologists.
